Within the framework of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of Europe, the President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly, as Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and as the main patron of the event, and the Ministerial Commissioner of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for strategic government research, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, are organising an equal opportunities conference entitled "Practices and experiences in the fight against discrimination in the Council of Europe member states". The conference will take place on 11 November 2021 from 10 am to 1 pm in the Delegation Room of the Parliament, as a hybrid (in-presence and online) event.
The opening speech will be delivered by Attila Fülöp, State Secretary for Social Affairs of the Ministry of Human Resources. The conference will take place in two sessions, the first session entitled "Equality and the fight against discrimination in the Council of Europe Member States" and the second session "National strategies and achievements for people with disabilities."
The conference will be attended by representatives and experts from the Council of Europe, the United Nations, the relevant European agency and European umbrella organisations from the United Kingdom, Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, Serbia and Hungary.
